I am Eva. 20, almost there and going nowhere. I hail from Singapore but I am currently living in Indiana. Home is 23 hours away by flight and I miss it. I like: Literature, gigs, music (see last.fm), writing amateur poetry/prose, all-day breakfasts, adventures, chawanmushi, tea and spontaneity.

I write stuff here

Embers & Envelopes

In about 24 hours time, I will be getting on a plane and heading to Indiana for the possibly the greatest adventures of my life thus far. 22 hours of flight await me and I am psyched (and scared) as hell. This whole idea of traveling alone with so much luggage is pretty unnerving. Crossing my fingers that I won’t miss my two transits and customs won’t be an issue. There are just so many things I am dying to see and experience. My best friend will be a few hours away.

This isn’t exactly the proverbial “Going Away to College” narrative. But it still feels so surreal that I am finally going to study and live in a country I have been wanting so much to visit. So much of everything and anything seem to lie ahead and I am raring to dive right in (as nervous as I am now).

So much here to miss, be it people, places or the moments. But for now, an experience like no other awaits. And ever closer, the sooner I take these steps down the departure hall.

Goodbye Singapore, and America, here I come.
